Montrose is a family beach with a handy promenade and car parking, plus shop and amusement centre. More importantly though it also has a Seafront Splash play area for children, pools, pitch and putt and an ice cream parlour. The quirky Trail Pavilion, built in 1913, houses the public toilets, open at peak times.

This circular walk heads along the length of the beach before returning via an inland route, visiting the fine North Water viaduct - now part of a cycle path. Montrose Beach is one of my most favourite beaches on the north east coast of Scotland. I have been visiting this beach since I was a child. Easy to walk or drive too from the centre of Montrose. Ample parking near the beach, toilet facilities available but limited depending on the time of year you go.
